It’s a pleasure for Stream to announce that we have just joined the Wind Ship Association.
Wind Ship is an association created in 2019, led by Lise Detrimont and her teams, the association has 50 members today (shipowners, design offices, equipment manufacturers, shipyards, insurers, etc.). Its aim is to accelerate the ecological transition of the maritime sector. To this end, it promotes more environmentally-friendly, low-carbon shipping through the use of wind power to propel merchant ships. The association works locally, nationally and internationally to promote the adoption of wind-powered propulsion solutions as a major and already available way to reduce the carbon footprint of shipping and fishing.
After having collaborated with the association in 2023 during an extensive panorama of the wind-powered sector, Stream wishes to reinforce its positioning and its desire to contribute to the development of wind-powered propulsion in France by joining the association.
Because there are few alternatives to fossil fuels, it’s important to remember that wind is a renewable, abundant source of energy that can be used directly on ships.
